General Lab Tests

  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP Test) $40

This broad screening tool includes 14 tests that evaluate your liver, kidneys, and more to provide a picture of your overall health. The panel looks at your organ function, electrolytes, blood sugar, and blood proteins.

    The CMP includes tests for:

    • Liver function (ALP, ALT, AST, Bilirubin)

    • Kidney function (BUN, Creatinine)

    • Electrolytes and fluid balance (Sodium, Potassium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride)

    • Proteins (Albumin, Total Protein)

    • Blood sugar (Glucose)

    • Calcium

This test does not require fasting.

  • Cholesterol Panel $50

Vintage Wellness Clinic’s Cholesterol Test Panel can help evaluate the health of your heart and arteries. The panel measures lipids: LDL (bad) cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, and triglycerides (the fat in blood). The results can be an important part of evaluating your overall health. High lipid levels usually have no symptoms, and some people can have high lipid levels for years without knowing it. That’s why it’s so important to get tested regularly.

This Test might be right for those who:

Have a family history of high cholesterol or heart attacks

    Are overweight

    Are physically inactive

    Have diabetes

    Eat an unhealthy diet

    Smoke cigarettes

Fasting for 8-12 hours before the appointment is strongly recommended, but not required. Fasting before having your blood drawn means that you don’t eat or drink anything except water.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC Test) $35

This common blood test screens for a variety of health conditions. By evaluating the 3 types of cells in your blood—red, white, and platelets—it can help detect possible infections, inflammation, and more.

Red blood cells carry oxygen throughout your body. Abnormal levels can help identify conditions such as anemia, malnutrition, leukemia, and others.

White blood cells are an important part of your immune system, and abnormal levels may mean your body is fighting an infection.

Platelets help your blood clot normally.

This test does not require fasting.

  • Urinalysis $30

This urine test screens for possible problems with your metabolism and kidneys by examining the appearance, concentration, and content in your urine, including the amount of protein, glucose, and other substances that may indicate various health conditions.

  • Thyroid Function Risk $40

This Thyroid Function Risk test measures the blood level of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) to evaluate thyroid function, which plays an important role in regulating weight, energy, body temperature, mood, and overall health.

If TSH levels are too high or too low, this may indicate that your thyroid is overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyroidism). In either case, Free Thyroxine (T4) blood levels will be evaluated at no additional cost to help accurately diagnose a thyroid disorder (including hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism).

An undiagnosed thyroid disorder may put patients at risk for cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, infertility, and other serious conditions but most thyroid conditions can be managed with medication.

This test does not require fasting.

  • Vitamin D $60

The Vitamin D Test measures levels of vitamin D, a key nutrient for helping the immune system fight infections, bone strength and overall health. Your body produces vitamin D after exposure to sunlight or from consuming certain foods and supplements. Because it enables your body to absorb calcium, vitamin D is essential for healthy bones and also helps the immune system fight infections.

This test may be right for those who:

Have a diet low in vitamin D rich foods such as egg yolks, fish such as herring, mackerel, and salmon, liver and organ meats, Vitamin D-fortified milk, orange juice, and cereals, and dairy products such as yogurt and cheese

    Have low exposure to sunlight

    Have a darker skin complexion

    Are overweight or obese

Abnormal vitamin D levels may have no symptoms, and some people can have abnormal vitamin D levels for years without knowing it. Some symptoms of low vitamin D levels include depression, fatigue, joint or muscle pain, and weakness. Low vitamin D levels can also affect organs and body functions including bone health, metabolism, heart health, and immune health.

The Vitamin D Test does not require fasting.

  • A1c Hemoglobin (Diabetes) $30

The Hemoglobin A1c test is the gold standard for measuring blood sugar levels; it identifies average blood sugar (glucose) levels over the past 2-3 months so you can track your progress in managing your diabetes. Glucose blood levels are tightly controlled by hormones like insulin produced by the pancreas. Consistently high blood glucose is typically seen in individuals with uncontrolled or undiagnosed diabetes. In people with diabetes, insulin is either less effective or not produced in sufficient quantity thus making it harder to manage the amount of sugar passing through the blood.

Common signs of high blood sugar levels include increased thirst, increased hunger, frequent urination, fatigue, blurry vision, darkened areas of the folds in the skin (often found in the armpits, groin, and/or neck), and weight loss.

This test may be right for those:

who are overweight or obese, and/or have certain risk factors for diabetes, such as:

Have a first- or second-degree family history of type 2 diabetes

Are American Indian, African American, Latino, Asian American, or Pacific Islander race or ethnicity

Have a mother who had diabetes while pregnant with them

Have conditions that may point to issues with how the body uses insulin:

Darkened areas in the folds of skin, often found in the armpits, groin, and neck (acanthosis nigricans)

    High blood pressure

    High cholesterol

    Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

    Low birth weight

The Hemoglobin A1c Test does not require fasting.

  • Vitamin B12 $45

B12 is a vitamin that is necessary for normal red blood cell (RBC) formation, neurologic function, and DNA production. B12 must be supplied by the diet or supplementation because the body is not able to produce it.

People who are deficient in Vitamin B12 may not have any symptoms or may present with symptoms of anemia or nerve damage. General symptoms related to anemia and nerve damage include fatigue, weakness, difficulty concentrating, depression, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, headaches, moodiness, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Some people may not have all or any of these symptoms but still have deficiency. Early detection is important to prevent irreversible damage over time, especially to the nervous system. Generally, people who are likely to have a B12 deficiency have:

    Problems absorbing the vitamin

    Poor or restricted nutritional intake

Interference from a medication they are taking

    Increased energy requirements (eg, pregnancy)

This test may be appropriate for those who:

Have a disorder that causes decreased absorption of certain vitamins or minerals

Have a diet low in vitamin B12-rich foods (dairy, eggs, fish, poultry, or red meat)

Are at risk for gastrointestinal absorption problems such as celiac disease, Crohn disease, partial bowel removal, pernicious anemia, atrophic gastritis

    Are pregnant or nursing

    Are 65 years and older

    Are a recent alcohol abuser

Taking certain medications: long-term use of antacid drugs (proton pump inhibitor and H2 blockers), metformin (a diabetes medication) and chloramphenicol (an antibiotic)

The Vitamin B12 Test does not require fasting.

  • Prostate Screening (PSA) $60

This test checks for prostate health and can help identify enlarged prostate and other inflammatory conditions in men. PSA (prostate-specific antigen) is a protein in blood that is often higher if you have prostate cancer, or if you have a non-cancerous condition like an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) or inflammation of the prostate (prostatitis). This test can help identify these problems so you can make informed decisions about your health.

The PSA test is for men aged 55-69 or those over 40 with certain risk factors, such as African-American men or men whose fathers, brothers, or sons have had prostate cancer.

This test does not require fasting.

Health Profiles
